Corridor8 is a contemporary art and writing journal based in Manchester covering the whole of the North of England. Taking the form of a physical print edition and online blog, the blog features reviews of exhibitions and events as they happen across the North of England and interviews and profiles on the most exciting artists and organisations.
Since recently appointing five new regional web editors to commission, collate and publish reviews on the blog we are looking to add a number of new writers to our team to enable us to write and publish more content than ever before.
We try to give equal coverage to all the major cities in the North, as well as covering the arts in the smaller surrounding towns and rural areas as much as possible, and focus our reviews on a cross section of organisations from across the art world.
The site has a growing readership with a wide geographical range, with around 50% in the North of England, 40% in London and 10% international.
Whilst the Corridor8 journal showcases work by the UK’s leading artists and writers, the online side gives aspiring critical writers an opportunity to develop their practice and gain experience whilst having their work published on the site produced by acclaimed Sheffield designers Dust. We try to give as flexible deadlines as possible and are open to experimental critical writing. We ask for reviews to be around 500 words long and interviews to be under 2000 words if possible.

We cannot offer payment for submissions to the site at present, but are working towards a sustainable model including advertising and crowd funding to be able to pay writers, with new sections due to be added to the site soon to facilitate this.
